The Latest in Kid's Fashion, Toys and Accessories
Has your Instagram feed also begun to be colonised by stylish photos of cute winter clothes for kids lately, or is it just mine?! With mornings noticeably crisper and dusk arriving earlier each week, it can only mean one thing - our endless Aussie summer is coming to an end, and the cooler months are on their way!
I love the change of season, because it brings with it not just a refreshing change in temperature and lifestyle, but the opportunity to see what the beautiful fashion brands we stock have designed this season to dress our little people in.
And while summer clothes are fun, floaty, light-weight and with a great holiday vibe, I have to say I get so excited to see the dreamy winter clothes for kids that our brands present around this time each year. From warm and colourful ribbed stockings to fluffy, puffy jackets - from bright and covetable gumboots to snuggly jumpers, the combination of warmth, style and innovative design touches always blow me away.
My picks for ‘must-have’ winter clothes for kids this year are;
1. Rain Jackets, Overalls and Boots from Crywolf
Crywolf is such a clever brand. Launched in 2018, this brand’s founding vision centres around getting kids outdoors, and ensuring they stay dry, warm and comfortable no matter the weather. Their Autumn/Winter 21 collection includes lightweight 100% waterproof Play Jackets (now made from recycled materials) as well as Rain Overalls, Organic Cotton Sweaters, and cozy Eco-Puffers. They’ve also created a range of incredibly cute Rain Boots in rubber, emblazoned with their howling wolf icon. I am so impressed with how they’ve considered sustainability at every turn, including creating their Eco-Puffer not from down, but from recycled plastic bottles - a humane, planet-friendly alternative.
2. Tights and Socks from Condor
Year round, I have a big crush on the entire Condor range, but it’s in winter that this Spanish brand really comes into its own. Keep little toes and legs toasty with their warm, thick and utterly gorgeous range of stockings and socks in muted, on-trend colours and patterns. For girls, a few pairs of their delicious knitted stockings in neutral shades will mean that favourite dresses can be worn year-round, and for boys, it’s hard to not fall in love with the combination of dress shorts, smart Condor knee-high socks, and winter boots!
3. Pretty Brave Boots
Winter footwear for grown-ups, as we know, is all about boots - and children’s footwear is no different! Accessorise your favourite winter clothes for kids with hard-wearing, great-fitting and super cute boots from quality Australian children’s shoe brand, Pretty Brave. Their new season showcases the latest trends with a strong focus on comfort and practicality - I can’t go past the Windsor boot (a ‘mini-me’ take on the ever-popular Chelsea boot shape) for boys or girls. Easy on and off, this style brings a little bit of London street-style to your little one’s look!
Bobux began in chilly New Zealand, (when Chris and Colleen Bennet created the shoes they wanted - but couldn't find - for their own little girl), so you know they understand the importance of comfortable, secure and warm shoes to see you through the winter. Bobux have become one of the most in-demand children's shoe manufacturers on the planet for a very good reason - their boots and shoes are made from premium materials, and designed in conjunction with podiatrists to support kids' feet better. With their fun colours and durability, a pair of Bobux boots will see your little one’s through winter and beyond!
